When food is art and unique items in a restaurant share a story, a great night awaits. An exceptional meal is in store at Twentytwenty Grille – named for their 20 seats inside and 20 outside.
Ron and Rhonda Weisheit met at Migis Lodge in Maine and an old wooden refrigerator door from there is a fitting centerpiece of a 3D artwork by Miami artist Rueben Ubiera.
The menu is contemporary American with stunning presentations, such as the pumpernickel and sourdough bread with blueberry caramelized onion butter.
The menu changes every six weeks. Appetizers range from $12 to $14 and the average meal is $28.
For appetizers, we especially enjoyed the Duck Duck Taco with orange margarita gastrique (a caramelized sugar sauce deglazed with a touch of vinegar) and roasted tomato pico de gallo. It was crunchy on the outside, lightly sweet and layered with grilled moist duck.
The braised collard greens were perfectly prepared with a hint of molasses. The grilled peach and arugula salad had a delicious sweet taste with a hint of the basil on the marshmallows, cornmeal crisps and port vinaigrette.
The silver oak brined rack of lamb was pink and juicy. The rosemary gnocchi galette was soft and light, served with balsamic tomatoes. This is a must have dish! And, don’t miss the Tagliatelle served with duck and chicken confit, caramelized pearl onions, roasted tomatoes, baby arugula and goat cheese.
Rhonda and Ron previously owned and operated Pralines Bakeshop in Newburyport, Mass., which was featured in the Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars.” We finished off our evening with Rhonda’s specialty: Chocolate Medium Rare, a molten chocolate cake baked medium on the outside.
