It’s already March and the recently-opened Twenty Twenty Grille is already getting in on the beer scene by pairing withFunky Buddha Brewery for a beer dinner tomorrow at their location in Boca Raton.
Starting at 7 p.m., dinner guests will expand their stomachs with a four-course dinner prepared by the chefs at Twentytwenty paired with Funky Buddha beers, which are almost a meal in themselves. Space is extremely limited with less than 30 tickets (24 to be precise) available for $50 each.
The first course is grilled diver scallop with dehydrated chili and strawberry-crusted goat cheese, wilted arugula and malted orange viniagrette paired with Funky Buddha’s Floridian Hefeweizen, a German-style wheat beer, at 5.6 percent alcohol-by-volume
Second course is tandoori-brined lamb rack with jasmine rice, roasted cauliflower, grilled naan, tandoori lamb jus paired with Funky Buddha’s Hop Gun IPA, rated at 7.2 percent abv.
The third course is “smoked coffee by design” rubbed skirt steak with potato gratin, bacon and brussels and almond butter paired with Funky Buddha’s Nib Smuggler chocolate porter, rated at 6.2 percent abv.
Dessert consists of apple and guava crumb with caramel cream, macadamia praline and raspberry foam paired with Funky Buddha’s Belgian quadrupel, a strong Belgian ale weighing in at a heavy 10 percent abv.
Beer dinners are no joke. They will either leave you sitting heavy in satiation or leave you wishing you had not eaten so much. But take comfort in knowing that this is how kings and queens dined when only kings and queens had such luxury.
Only 24 tickets are left and they can be purchased at eventbrite.com.
Twenty Twenty Grille was started by Ron and Rhonda Weisheit, who both were top graduates of their respective culinary schools, according to its website. The husband and wife team previously owned and operated Pralines Bakeshop and Catering in downtown Newburyport, Massachusetts for eight years.
